Umm.. not so much a Restaurant Anymore...

Posted by JdogAtlanta on 6/4/2009

Apparently this place has CHANGED? we got a coupon from a website for $25, if we spend $35. Well, we went in at 8:30 on a Friday night, and are the only people there, (sign 1) also, they are apparently an URBAN club at night. The staff ignored us (again, the ONLY customers in the restaurant)... finally someone came out.. and asked if we wanted drinks.. .we asked if we could see a menu, and she acted shocked. We got the menu, expecting veggi fare.. but it wasn't. it was a single page menu, and afterthought.. less than half was veggie. I ordered a water, she ordered a wine. the "waitress" couldn't open the wine. some guy, had to help her. she brought it and a Bottled water to us. I asked if there was charged for the bottle of water, she said their was, (i ordered iced water, pretty much common sense would tell you I wanted tap water, but, even if not, she didn't bring out any ice?) so i sent the water back.. i asked her if the restaurant had changed owners.. she seemed retarded and only said they changed the cook. The most expensive thing on the menu was like a turkey sandwich, and we needed to spend $35. They were getting ready to open a urban club with $10 cover. and had no interest in serving food or paying customers. we had drinks and left. NOT a RESTAURANT anymore, just an URBAN niteclub. STAY AWAY! SERVICE SUCKEEEEDDD !!! F-

Good vibes, Great food!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. When my friends and I first walked in I was a little confused, I thought I was in the wrong place, it looked more like a bar/club rather than a restaurant. Its sort of a mix, there was a live dj too. The food was amazing (all vegetarian!), I had the Philly cheese steak and gumbo, both were awsome. It's a very cool spot, great for food or even just to hang out. The owner even came and sat with us and talked for a while... very nice guy. I would highly recommend this place.

The worst dining experience i've ever had

I've never written a review of a restaurant before, but Cenci promted me to. Advertised as an upscale vegitarian restaurant, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Couldn't get in at 6:50pm on a friday because the door was locked. Called to see when it opened, after asking someone the girl on he phone said 7:15....ok. Me and my girlfriend were the only people dining in the restaurant. The waiter/bartender said they were having hip hop with a dj later in the night, but I thought it would be ok. It took 20 minutes to get a cup of hot water and a tea bag on the side. It took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to get any food - our appitizers. By that time my girlfriend was really upset. Nobody had checked on us, or apologized, we had to ask for silverware, and we ate off the plates the apps were served in. A dj was setting up and blasting music on and off, testing the sub woofer, etc. which sucked. The appitizers were less than mediocre. Avacado rolls were a really poor sushi style avacado in dry rice. The collard eggrolls were pretty bland. We considered getting the rest of our food to go as the msuic was becoming really obnoxiously loud and we were still the only people eating. Over an hour after we ordered our entrees came out. The philly cheese steak was unremarkable and served with obviously store bought frozen french fries. The fish sandwhich were 2 patties of something covered in marinara sauce on a hoagie, with plain white rice on the side. The food really reminded me of something you'd get at a stand at a sporting event; nothing trendy, chic, offbeat or adventurous about it. I guess it's really more of a nighclub than it is a restaurant, which would be ok if they weren't promoted as a restaurant. I would strongly recommend against eating there unless you just want some drinks and hip hop. Terrible service, long wait time, diner unfriendly atmosphere, and mediocre food.

Heavy VIbez! Love it!

Wow... I was told by one of my college classmates that this spot was cool. So I decided to check it out for myself. So I figured this sopt would be just another coffee serving lounge spot, but to my surprise when I walked in I was BLOWN AWAY! The decor is amazing. The space is great and the feeling I got was calm, cool and collective. Very earthy. So the night I went was on a Monday, open mic night. When I say this place was off the chain....that is an understatement. There was so much love in that place I did not want to leave! The food was good and people were ordering from left to right. I was taken on a tour of the place by one of the owners and I was so impressed. They offer a downstatirs area for club like parties.. wow . I am an up & coming singer and I would def have parties there. I am going back with my manager and my producer so they can check it out. NO STRESS HERE! JUST BE READY TO VIBE @ CENCI!

Embarassing

How anyone can give this place 5 stars (or 4 or even 3) is a joke. The place was nearly empty and there was someone sleeping in one of the booths. Eewww. The server was pleasant but the food took a really long time. It was definitely not worth the wait. The food was awful. Half of my fried okra was burnt (as in, charred and inedible). The faux chicken tasted like it came out of a microwave. Trust me when I say that you'll find better food in the frozen food aisle at Kroger. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the server was apologetic and the place caters to veggies (yay)... but go to Green Sprout or VeggieLand instead.
