My husband and I traveled quite a bit to Atlanta before relocating here. One place we had to visit everytime we visited was Chin Chin. In fact, when we were looking our new home we wanted Chin Chin to be close by, knowing it was one of our favorites. The staff is friendly and has a great sense of humor. They know us so well that they usually throw in some extras from time to time. The Kung Pao Chicken is the best! If you are looking for a mellow place to sit and enjoy a great meal and have a good conversation, this is a great place. The wine list is reasonable and they are also very accomodating when it comes to small groups.

Two co-workers and I went for lunch 2 weeks ago. My co-worker found a dried out insect in her fried rice. First the server apologized and offered her the meal for free. He told the manager. The manager never came over or said a word to us. They ended up giving us all our meals for free. They didn't seemed alarmed or panicked about the dead insect in the rice.

This place should be shut down and replaced with a nuclear waste dump to improve the deplorable existence of Chin Chin's in Brookhaven. I am embarrased for anyone that equates that resturant (if you call it that) with my neighborhood. They have a glass window so you can see the cooks doing their job. Apparently part of the ingredients for Chin Chin's is boogers and snot. The cooks have no shame in displaying the ancient nose dig techniques. So much for the wash your hands before returning to work signs in the powder room. I will never eat there again. Additionally, the service was absolutely beyond repair, a politician games of listening but not listening garners more trust than these people. They don't care about customers at all. If I could have taken the Citysearch rating stars above and pushed a Citysearch "super nova button" to create a blackhole to feed Chin Chin into....well...that would be a good start to cleaning up Brookhaven's image of horrible destination spots. In other words, they don't even deserve a 1 star rating!!

When I moved to Atlanta, several months ago, I read online and in print reviews about how great the food at Chin Chin was. I was amazed to find out first hand, just how spectacularly undelicious the food really is -- at least the food at this restaurant on Peachtree. From the dumplings that seem like they had just been defrosted from a freeze dried state, to the tasteless seasame noodles and the insipid sauces, none of which taste like they were made from scratch, rather poured from a can fresh off the shelf of Costco. Since Chin Chin is only about 1/2 a mile from my house, I have had the displeasure of trying the food on multiple occaisions (friends and family have brought by pick up orders - not at my behest) and each time it has been consistently unpalatable. Perhaps the most amazing part of the dining experience at this restaurant is the reception you receive. The woman hovering over the front desk, who doubles as both hostess and cashier, is perhaps the most impolite and petulant service persons around (it's my guess that she has to be the owner or the owner's wife). She has a temperament better suited for a position as an IRS field agent, rather than that of a hostess/greeter, or any service position for that matter.
